REOIL
REOIL Module
Transformer oil regeneration add-on module
REOIL Module is a mobile adsorption regeneration unit designed to pair with a separate FILOIL plant. It is not a standalone system — it adds high-capacity regeneration to a FILOIL, focusing solely on removing acids, oxidation products, and corrosive sulfur through adsorption, while the FILOIL provides the drying, degassing, and heating. Together they form a complete regeneration system.
- Adsorption regeneration add-on for existing FILOIL plants
- Removes acids, sludge, oxidation products, and corrosive sulfur
- Pairs with a FILOIL plant for a complete system
- Mobile, container or trailer — follows the FILOIL to site
Overview
What REOIL Module does
REOIL Module regenerates aged transformer oil. Over years in service, oil oxidizes: acids form, sludge builds, and corrosive sulfur attacks the transformer's internals. REOIL reverses that. High-capacity adsorption through bauxite columns removes the acids, sludge, oxidation products, and corrosive sulfur, and the oil is restored to fresh-oil specification rather than simply cleaned.
REOIL Module does the adsorption stage only. It connects to a FILOIL plant, which supplies the drying, degassing, and heating; the Module adds the bauxite adsorption columns that remove acids, sludge, and corrosive sulfur. The sorbent is reactivated inside the Module and reused across hundreds of cycles. Connected to a FILOIL, the combined system regenerates oil to fresh-oil specification on energized transformers, sealed and automatic, with no outage and no oil loss.
For the chemistry of oxidation, acidity, sludge, and corrosive sulfur, and why regeneration restores oil rather than replacing it, see the Handbook of Transformer Oil Excellence.

Best suited for
REOIL Module is the unit for operators who already run FILOIL and want to add regeneration when the job calls for it, and for service teams who need flexible, on-demand regeneration in the field. Housed in a container or trailer, it connects to a FILOIL on-site; the combined system regenerates oil to IEC 60422 and, in most cases, IEC 60296. It suits transformers from 1 to 100 MVA, wherever a regeneration capability needs to travel to an existing FILOIL.

Engineered to a different standard
-
Adsorption regeneration
Acids, sludge, and oxidation products are removed through bauxite columns, restoring aged oil to fresh-oil specification rather than just cleaning it. The chemical decline that filtration and drying cannot touch is reversed.
-
Sorbent reactivated in-system
The bauxite is reactivated inside the unit and reused, up to 300 cycles on a single charge. A long campaign runs without the constant media changes regeneration normally demands.
-
Corrosive sulfur removed
DBDS and reactive sulfur taken below detectable levels, passing IEC 62535. The copper-sulfide attack that ages a transformer from the inside is stopped at the source.
-
Sealed, online, no outage
Works on an energized transformer, sealed against oil loss. Regeneration happens on the asset, without an outage and without transporting oil off-site.
-
Regeneration, not replacement
Aged oil is restored and goes back to work instead of being drained and burned. No waste oil to dispose of, no new oil to manufacture and ship. The most environmentally responsible thing a transformer oil can do is stay in service.
-
Pairs with a FILOIL plant
Adds adsorption regeneration to a FILOIL. The drying, degassing, and heating come from the FILOIL; the Module adds the bauxite columns that remove acids, sludge, and corrosive sulfur.
-
Runs itself. Watches itself.
Fully automatic regeneration cycle under PLC control, with diagnostics and remote access. Manual controls are PLC-guarded, so the wrong move is blocked before it happens.
-
Interlocked for every scenario
Alarms, sensors, and interlocks across every condition the cycle can meet. Designed to run safely, attended or unattended.
-
Connected as standard
An integrated modem and on-board server push every reading to ekofluid.cloud. Your portal holds the full cycle history and the documentation. Log in and run the unit from any browser.
-
Mobile regeneration on demand
Housed in a container or trailer, the Module travels to an existing FILOIL on site and turns oil treatment into full regeneration when the job calls for it.
-
Configurable adsorption banks
Column count and bank layout are matched to the transformer, the oil volume, and the contamination state. One platform covers distribution assets to the largest power transformers.
-
Mounted however the site needs
Lifting points, optimized dimensions, and rugged enclosures. Stationary at a workshop or mobile to the substation, built to be moved between sites for regeneration campaigns.
-
Access designed in
Every valve reachable, every gauge readable, columns and service points laid out for the work. A dedicated review checks operator access on every build.
-
Built to outlast the asset
Black steel, fully welded, dual-coated and baked. Built for continuous, large-scale regeneration work and decades of hard use, in the factory or in the field.
