Industries
Where Ekofluid equipment goes to work
Ekofluid systems are deployed across five industries where oil condition is essential to safety, efficiency, or compliance. The same engineering discipline serves transmission grids, power plants, manufacturing floors, railway infrastructure, and specialized applications well beyond transformer oil.
Transmission and distribution
The grid backbone
Transmission grids and distribution networks operate transformers that cannot be taken out of service. Ekofluid equipment treats, regenerates, and vacuum-processes the insulating oil in these assets — on-site, on a live transformer, with no outage and no oil transport. The result is extended asset life, restored dielectric performance, and reduced capital expenditure on replacement units. Grid operators and TSOs across seventy countries use Ekofluid systems and services to maintain transformer fleets ranging from distribution units to high-voltage transmission assets.
Power generation
Generators, step-up transformers, plant assets
Power generation plants run step-up and auxiliary transformers under continuous load, where downtime cycles for maintenance directly affect generation revenue. Ekofluid REOIL systems restore aged transformer oil to fresh-oil specification without taking the asset offline. Utilities, independent power producers, and renewable energy operators use REOIL to extend the operating life of generator step-up transformers, reduce oil management costs across ageing fleets, and keep generation assets compliant with IEC 60422 and equivalent in-service standards.
Industry and manufacturing
Transformer OEMs and industrial operators
Transformer manufacturers use FILOIL and FILOIL est. systems on production lines to dry, degas, filter, and fill new transformers with treated oil to IEC 60296 specification. Industrial operators with large transformer fleets — heavy industry, metals, chemicals, automotive — rely on Ekofluid REOIL and on-site service crews to maintain plant transformers without disrupting production. The platforms handle mineral oil and natural and synthetic esters across the full capacity range from 1 500 to 24 000 l/h.
Railways and infrastructure
Traction substations and infrastructure grids
Railway electrification networks and infrastructure grids run traction transformers and substation assets under demanding cycling conditions, often in remote locations where outage windows are short and oil transport is impractical. Ekofluid mobile systems — REOIL S and FILOIL — handle on-site regeneration and treatment at the substation, on energized assets where possible. Railway operators and infrastructure utilities across Europe and beyond use Ekofluid equipment to keep traction networks running.
Bespoke and specialized
Beyond transformer oil
The discipline of vacuum and adsorption engineering applies far beyond transformers. Ekofluid bespoke systems serve X-ray equipment manufacturers, pulse generator builders, defense applications, medical device manufacturers, oil refining and re-refining, additive blending operations, and high-voltage research equipment. CABOIL, SORBOIL, MIXOIL, and STOROIL platforms are engineered per project to match the customer's fluid, process, and operating environment. Where standard transformer oil platforms do not apply, bespoke does.
